Trying to run LAN dedicated server

I know that might be silly but i can't run my server, here is my cfg, and i have to add that i have server.cfg in both main/ and Main cod 4 folder

you haft to set +map dm_crash (exampel) in the shortcut. else the server doesnt really start

Are you trying to run a COD4 server? This is my target. It is quite different from yours. I realize your install directories may have different names. But your target also has no quotes. Notice their placement.

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +set dedicated 2 +set sv_punkbuster 1 +exec dedicated.cfg +map_rotate

Also, note that I don't specify the starting map in the target and it still works fine. "dedicated 2" should be "dedicated 1" if you just want a LAN server. My only config file is located in the "main" folder within the "Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare" folder. It is named dedicated.cfg.

hi im completely new to setting up lan gaming servers. could anybody please help get set up. what do i need to create the gaming server? what confg must be done? and other apps that need to be installed? we are 8 gamers all together. please help any advice would be appreciated. thank you.
