Since most people do not play tactical realism..
AK74 - mobility, fast scope and turn speed, killing power.
AK47 - gun sway not fixed in older CoD4 versions, slow turn and scoping.
Otherwise an all round medium range rifle.
Then again, overpowered Mp5 and P90, beats most guns in almost all areas.
- I found Steady Aim only useful on heavy guns. I do not use it.
- Martyrdom is useful where there is no team work involved. (90% games.)

The AK-74u it's a very powerful weapon but I like more the AK-47

the ak 74u can supply a more accurate hip fire and you can see by my display i love the ak 74u because i love to be sneaky and knife them snipers and i use a silencer and it performs amazing

General I
The hip fire is great ids like noscoping lol very quick but the uzy is slighty better.

aks-74u, simply because, even with RDS or silencer 9which reduce hip fire accuracy)
it has nicer DPS and more forgiving kick. i also find it easier to psuedo-snipe with and it has quite decent accuracy.
Private First Class
AK47-Has higher power, less recoil and better at long range.
This may not be true but it just seems this way to me.

74u is only a SMG in terms of this game, even still, it acts like an Assault in all areas that matter in-game-- stopping power, penetration, accuracy, and it has smg mobility to boot.
All preference though, but technically its an assault rifle effectively.

I would definitely take the ak-74u over the AK-47.I'm not a big fan of the AK-47 in the first place, so I am a little bias toward the 74. I actually prefer the 74 over any other smog, when at a medium to long range (I like the P90 when it comes to close range combat). The 74u has a better fire rate which I prefer over damage since I typically use stopping power.

I like the AK-47 mainly cuz its a sweet gun, decent rate of fire and power.
Private First Class
its a simple choice....
AK 47longer range, better aim, etc etc etc
