Extreme lag, even in single player

Just got COD 4 for the PC today and installed it. whenever i play in multi player i lag to much to do anything much, and it really ruins the game. I even lag really bad in single player which i didnt think made much sence I didnt go out and spend 50 bucks on this game to not be able to play it. help?

Why buy it if you have a bad computer? That sounds like the culprit to me.

It'll tell you if you can run COD4 on your PC or not. If not you'll have to either upgrade or take it back.

check to make sure video card drivers are up to date!!! close any other things EG MSN MESSENGER that really drags it down use ctrl. alt delete see whats runnin in the background that may be usin up you're cpu- net connection etc.. even a 1.7 Intel will run COD4 as long as you're video is up to snuff and have enough ram Oh Yea there's another one Ram the more the better!!

its most likely you just have a bad graphics card.
