Thread: Help me...

    Default Help me...

Ok guys, I really need some help with something, something that has been pissing me off for about a week now...

I will boot my xbox up and everything is running correctly, I'm about the main menu about to select multiplayer and as soon as i hit multiplayer, it sounds like a processor or something shuts off...

From there, certain things are definately different about the game. You are unable to hear the opening little music capture when you start a game, loading the maps are absolutely slow as hell, you are unable to hear helicopters flying over when you get 7 kill streaks and the same thing with the planes when you get 5 kill streaks...

It started happening and I was like mabey i'm starting to get the first signs of ROD (ring of death)...I have another xbox I will just put it in it and go from there....SAME THING...Total new different cords and everything, I have taken the game and gotten a replacement from gamestop and the same damn thing has happened...

I also deleted my game profile and everything that dealt with the game and it is still happening...Has anybody had something like this happen before?Huh? Mabey something similar???

A little insight is needed guys....Thanks

Same happend to me. Ill tell you the exact problem. OK the inside of your box overheted and it cant run for long periods of time. This is worse than rrod because it cannot be fixed. At least mine couldnt. I just bought an Arcade 360 and put my harddrive from my other 1 which was pro.

    +rep me please

i think it is the disc or the reader. The disc(s) mite have sum scratches rite where the data for the multiplayer meni is. The reader problem happened to my original Xbox many years ago. The cds i had didnt have too many scratches on them, but the reader was f**ked up.
Let me hear how you use some of the guns I use

No, the game never freezes during online play, it is just a little slow...slow meaning gameplay, not connection...im running off of a T1 line so I know my connection isnt slow lol...

I just find it really ODD that it does it to this disk, in both xbox's, then i go and get another disk, and then it is doing the same thing to the other xbox's as well...

Although I do know this, somehow, my laser is burning a perfect circle into the disk...I took it to this store called Replay's and they were telling me somehow it is being off balanced, like the xbox isnt sitting perfectly level or something but it is perfectly level...It is just annoying the hell out of me...

I'm going to gamestop tomorrow and picking up a new copy and trying it in my other xbox to see what happens...And the thing that sucks is that this laginess only occurs when I play COD4 online....Not gears of war, not battlefield or anything else, just this game, the game i freakin love the most lol

Well thanks anyways for your help guys, I'll update you all when I get another copy and try it out...Thanks once again

You mean as you stated since you are Hockeystar561, right!.

Anyways, it sounds like it is some sort of internal problem, I would call up XBOX and see what they have got to say about it or even better you could do some research on the interent and try and figure out the problem.

Also, do you have your 360 standing up or lying flat on the ground? Only reason i ask is becuase me buddy had his standing up and the disk ended up shifting away from the the little piece that reads the disk and it ened up scratching a perfect ring around the game. I would suggest if this is your case to lay the 360 down flat.

they are right about the balance thing, the xbox WILL burn a ring in your disc if you move it while it is in operation. It really is an odd situation since you have tried numerous combinations of the potential problem makers. Switching the disc was my first thought, but you said you tried a different disc in two different xbox's... Which means you also experimented with the xbox itself. the only thing i can think of is a potential problem with your T1 connection being *too* good, lol. Does that sound (sound of a processor switching off) occur about the same time that it says "so and so has signed into Xbox Live'? if so, I would try decreasing your bandwidth limits while you play. other than this i can't think of anything that you haven't already experimented with. maybe your TV? or Amp?

I honestly dont think that my bandwith is causing the issue cause if it was then it would do that to every single game that I play online, but it only does this to cod4...

And the odd thing is, for some reason it is burning perfect circles on the bottom of my disk but the xbox has always laid flat on the ground, never tilted, never standed upright...

I honestly dont know what the issue is and it is really getting annoying though, I'm picking up a new copy of cod4 today and we will see what happens with it. If it starts to do the same thing again with this, I think I'm just going to go buy the arcade 360 version and just switch out the hard drive. If it still does it I'm going to throw my 360 off of a building and buy a ps3.
