Then your experience is a lot different than that of mine and the hundreds of others that I played Quake and UT with. I do not remember the rampant camping that pervades the games out now. Hell even in a game where you had one life RvS people hardly camped and if they did they were ridiculed to the point where they either left/stopped playing or got better.

yeah, camping used to get you laughed out of servers or kicked from servers. now its overlooked and sometimes even encouraged.

Sure there were some CAPLOCKS shouting about camping, not many people gave that much of a damn, at least on the servers I visited. I also remember most people didn't mind if they won or lost. I don't really mind if someone is camping, as long as the person doesn't affect the overall experience like trapping you or something like that. Fun is the main factor for me in an fps.

they camp because camping is easier. it's easier to watch in one direction than to watch all directions while moving.

They can run. You press L3 and move it forward. Do they want to run? No. Mr.Wings told them watching a door is more fan.
