250 fps is not stable

Sup guys, I have a new computer, but I steel can't reach stable 250 fps.

Spec:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 o.c. 3.7Ghz x 4 cores

ICEq X HIS Radeon HD6930 1024mb ddr5 (not o.c. version)

RAM AMD Patriot 4096mb 1600mhz x 1

PS Chieftec 700W

What is the problem? I have decreased all setting to very low, texture quality at minimum, I have tried many '' high fps '' cfg's but it wont give me my 250!

You can only unlock the FPS to your desired value if you're playing in dedicated servers or single player. Your FPS WILL be locked while playing in ranked servers.


C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3/players/

config_mp.cfg is your Multiplayer config

config.cfg is your SinglePlayer config.

IW does not really code a lot, it is just copy and paste. I will give you 75% chance that what Smoke said would work and maybe even fix your problem.

That's strange, I would have thought a 6930 would give you 250 FPS no problems... I get 500-1000 FPS with a 6970.

Which configs have you tried? And you haven't done something silly like left vsync on, have you?

IW does not really code a lot

This is CoD4 remember, MW2 and MW3 were the copy/paste jobs. CoD4 was the last decent CoD with regards to client side customisation and tweaking.


On topic, are you playing the stock game or promod? make sure resolution is the same as your monitors native display.
