More players alive = more people taking your loot and eating your beans. It's a post-apocalyptic society, survival of the fittest, do what you gotta do. I think there'd be a lot of bandits in the same situation IRL.

That aside, about 6 or 7 hours in to the character I was playing, I got killed by a fucking hacker... I was scoping out a small town, about to enter and loot, then I teleport across the map and get shot within seconds. Oh fucking joy...

I think this would just make the game more difficult for lone wolves and easier for grouped bandits TBH.

Not necessarily, as I recall learning from very early videos of Day-Z, the more survivors stick together, the higher the chance that someone will eventually make a mistake . Someone will panic, the team would disperse and inevitably abandon other players to zombies, regardless of whether it was their fault or not.

Yeah, but when you're playing in a group stuff like repairing cars and helis is much, much easier and you can use blood bags, people can cover you while you bandage yourself etc. Sneaking past a load of zombies while trying to remain hidden from any lurking players can be difficult enough as it is, especially now that you spawn unarmed.

I'm all for some kind of measure to discourage killing or encourage team play, but I don't think this is it. They should bring humanity back but have it affect you in some way other than just being a survivor/bandit. If there was a price to pay for murdering survivors I think it would happen a lot less.

Edit: Also, I think something that a lot of people don't take in to account is the kind of people that play ARMA II. You think you're being shot on sight every time but I'd say 50% of PvP situations you won't even know took place. People will watch you, determine whether or not you're a threat and then if you appear to just be a survivor searching for beans they'll let you go on your merry way.

I don't think there would be many murders in this type of situation. Why? Because what do you gain? This is a situation which wouldn't be "fixed" tomorrow. You wouldn't wake up tomorrow and be all like "no more zombie apocalypse, yay!" It's not a political revolution type situation where there is no law, but rather long term survival. Probably a lot like the old Wild West in the US - largely lawless, but at the same time most "murders" occurred because someone fucked someone else over.

Most bandits wouldn't last long at all. Word travels.

That first comment used to hold true. Yet, that is no longer the case. ARMAII is the pinnacle of infantry sim. That is it. There is nothing else. Anyone who wants it has it by now. Look at YT, you have guys who aren't even interested in realism suddenly doing DayZ videos. Guys with large CoD channels suddenly playing ARMA? No, they aren't. DayZ =/= ARMA.

To add, he's basically saying the same thing I've said. Except he supports a full on free for all.
Murder plays a big part and the game would completely suck if they got rid of that, or punished you for player killing.
But if killing other players is all that you are here for, you might as well call it Deathmatch, instead of a survival game.

If you watch the video, he is completely ignoring a zombie that's attacking him just so he can chase an unarmed player. That's retarded. What's the point of zombies if you can just ignore them? That's not how it should work! I want to see players panic and fear zombies, not pass them by to get a can of beans out of a noob.

Where is the cautiousness? where are the tactical plans? Where is the trust? It doesn't exist anymore. Without a presence of zombies, players will only focus on other players and nothing more.
