You changed windows sound setting so that it doesn't adjust volumes of things when it detects voice activity?

In the audio control panel go to the communications tab and select "do nothing"

Or if the audio mis syncs are happening after you've compressed the video, turn the audio sync option off

Disable voice activated recording / muting on the mic, and turn the game volume in game down to about 25 percent of it's max.

Also, Dxtory for recording, it's ftw. I don't remember FRAPS ever giving me two channels (just the one with game audio and comm audio mixed into one), which means I can adjust the volume of the game and my voice seperately in Vegas when I go to render it. I usually have to drop the game audio channel by about 25 dB to get it to sound balanced with a commentary.

If you are using a program that only records the one mixed channel like FRAPS, every time something louder than your voice comes along you will be lost behind it. Drop the in game audio - whatever you want to be the focus has to be loudest.

Fun Fact : When I play BF3 - which I have set for quiet ingame volume so if I commentate live I can just pick up and run when I feel - my headset is on it's "White" volume, which is about 80% volume and a comfortable listening volume as it's setup. One time I switched to BC2 in a jiff - not setup for recording - and damn near went deaf first time a Grenade went off next to me. Holy sheeit that is loud.
