i normally use the m40a3 and try to hit them in the head but if they're running you should just aim to hit them anywhere and then they slow down
heres a class i find fun:
.50cal
stopping power
deep impact
can kill one hit through walls even if not head and on non-hardcore matches

this is just my opinion of course

i prefer sniping on hardcore cause its 99% kill (might be 100%)... i use 1st sniper n ma gold drag... only evr used the others in 10th prestige getting rt... i ACOG the fist sniper or just normal scope n quick scope... running shots r hard but fun... i think its probs luck lol

everyone says to use hiding spots all the time but the better you get you will be able to run round the map with your sniper and pull off loadsa enemies. the best sniper is the M40a3, with stopping power and extreme conditioning. with extreme conditioning you can get to hot spots on the map and pick of a person or two before they get there, then you move. when you kill someone stay in your scope view so the enemy doesnt see you position on the playback, and if you spot another sniper and arent very confident, pull back round the corner, put your scope on, hold your breath and move round the corner slightly until hes in your view, and bang. then once youve hit 100 kils and get the acog scope, theres no end to the joy of NO-SCOPING!!!!!

I wonder that: In Single player, Act II, Part 2 (All Ghillied Up) Player's sniper rifle is mounted by a suppressor and wraped by rag, why there is nothing like that to unlock for multiplayer mod ???

A lot of people are talking about 'accuracy', and saying that certain sniper rifles are more 'accurate' than others. Just a reminder that ALL guns in the game shoot exactly where you put the sights; it is just idling sway and blowback that acounts for missed shots. So...when you say that a sniper rifle is 'inaccurate', are you referring to the sway of the scope when not holding breath, or something else? because I'm fairly sure that every gun shoots exactly where you point it, precise to the pixel.

My favorite sniper rifle is the M40A3, and I usually use it with claymore x2, stopping power, and deep impact. I also like it with the ACOG scope, but with frag x3 and steady aim.

i have found that the M40A3 (first sniper) is my favorite. second favorite: Barrett .50. For M40A3 i have recently started using it with an ACOG and have been successful with it. granted theres not as much as range as a normal scope, i have been versatile with even close combat (no scoping). Also have the USP.45 silenced equipped.

Perks: Bandolier, Stopping Power, Steady Aim

Strategy: Shoot and clear the area, then move. ALWAYS move. I also try to make it difficult for killcam view by (like earlier post said) stay scoped at some random spot that's hard to give away position (ie. wall, ground, etc.) unless there are a ton of guys nearby each other then i just keep firing, kill, and MOVE!

Majority of the time i am croutched. If i miss a shot and there are enemies nearby, i will prone against a wall or cover until i finish reloading, or whatever. ill get up from prone WITH scope (sometimes) only if i know the direction of the person i'm trying to get (saves time for me IMO). Just be familiar with every map that's good for sniping (overgrown, bloc, etc.) and know where the easy pick off angles and entrances are. always keep your back COVERED like corner yourself so that you have visual cover of every area so that no one comes up and kills you from a blindspot. if i remember anything else, ill repost. i guess that's my habit for sniping at the moment.
