Default Mass Effect 3 is cheesy!

I've just finished Mass Effect 2 and one thing I loved was the emotional subtlety of the game. They show so little of the character "feelings" that I sort of projected how I felt about the story to him. Also, the music was very subtle but when it was present, it definitely set the mood and marked the situation. All of this made me more connected to the storyline/characters than most games.

Now, in Mass Effect 3, the writing is uber melodramatic. It's stupid. I feel like the emotional scars are so stupidly at the front that I feel like they're pushed down my throat. Also, the dialog is cheesy as shit. Ashley is in the Hospital and Shepherd goes: "It's been good seeing you" "Doctor! if there's anything I can do/provide, I'll do ANYTHING!" And that kid nightmare kind of thing. WOW!

I was like, WTF IS THIS!?!?!?!? A fucking afternoon soap? I don't know if it's to appeal to younger audiences that might have a hard time grasping the subtlety of Mass Effect 1 and 2 but hell, this shit sucks.

Hope it gets better, I'm only 3h in :/

I've decided that the games that aren't gigantic blockbusters have (in general) much better writing. Enslaved had a great script, Alice: Madness Returns had a great one, and so did the original Portal (which wasn't meant to be a blockbuster hit). Sure, there are massively popular games out there with amazing voice acting, but you're generally better going for the smaller games so far.

Mass Effect 3 had moments of greatness in it's characters, such as literally any scene involving Wrex, and Mordins death was phenomenal also. Any scene with Ashley in the hospital? I cringed.

Mass Effect 2 and L.A. Noire were blockbuster and both had fantastic writing, taste and class.

I still gotta LA Noire. Playing a game with good lip syncing would be weird, in a deliciously awesome way.

I loved LA Noire, except I realised the insane repetitiveness I quickly stopped playing it, also, the driving was terrible..
