Its not my video.
But how awesome is that? All my friends that I know can't fly jets. The ones who can don't fly seriously.
Anyone up to try this?
I do this in ARMA, but it's not nearly as fun as it would be in Battlefield. Cause in Arma, once you and your buddy get in the Air, all we do is shoot down Jets piloted by AI which isn't hard. Sometimes we run outta Ammo so we need to RTB which is risky, but other than that it is easy and getting quite stale.
In BF3, the fact that the graphics are much ahead of ARMA2 adds to the immersion and intensity. And the fact that you have an end objective and a current objectives (End objective being to win the game, Current Objective being to provide air support) adds more than ARMA.
In ARMA all we do is the 'Current Objective' and once it is Complete, thats it. Plus trying to do this in an environment with A ground element to support and and a fighter squadron on its own is hard enough to set up and find people to fill these roles. We dont really trust randoms because they might not be able to fulfil the knowledge aspect like being able to clearly address who you are talking to and what you want them to do while talking like a real soldier. (Whole purpose of this is because it provides a very clear and concise way of giving and reviving orders)
Ex "Arizona 1-1 this is Knife 1-3, come in over?"
"This Is Arizona, we read you."
"This is Knife 1-3 requesting immediate CAS mission on (insert predefined waypoint / position) Checkpoint Bravo"
"Roger that Knife 1-3, CAS mission inbound ETA 3 mikes, Arizona Out"
While this would be fun, we just don't have enough reliable people to pull it off.
In battlefield, you do it with real players where 2 things can happen. They can play the objective. Or they can Ignore the objective and makes our job as the pilots easier.
I want a Wingman for BF3.
