Slow Down During Recording

I've noticed more and more that my PC is slowing down and stuttering while recording BF3. I know it has to do with recording, because I can stop recording and the game gets back up to speed. Specs:

Gigabyte 6950
AMD Phenom II X4 970 (3.5)
8gb RAM (corsair Vengeance)

I'm wondering if it's based on my recording going to my green drive instead of standard 7200 drive, but if you have other ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Nevermind. Started recording to 7200 and it is moving fine. I guess that was the prob after all.
