Ive the perfect example of false security
my kd is on average 1 to 2 + WITH AN SMG or AR.
but my profile says .90 cause i use sniper rifles pre buff lmgs pistols and a hell of a lot of jav whoring. Lots of testing weapons too. so i get taken out of my comfort zone a bit. Which happens to be all the weapons now. so yeah. overcame that. Its just I cant do shit but ar or SMG if there are other competent ar / smg users in my lobby.
I can smash them with their own game. but cant win for shit with a shotgun or sniper.
oh and i havent used assasin until 10th pres... this perk is silly, lmao. Lets me get away with so much its stupid.
now i know why people use it.. But fuck that, i use it for stealth flanker. otherwise id rather have my hardline and specialist.

This is how we chill, from 93 til...
I use Assassin primarily to counter EMP's. It doesn't really protect you from much else. I mean you spawn in view of two people and the guy you just killed spawned in your back so they know where you are.
I only use k/d as a single metric which can tell me if something is different about my game--as others have pointed out it varies from game mode so overall k/d is crap. Looking in a FFA lobby leaderboard tells you nothing because that guy with a 3KDR might be sitting a dark corner thinking he's doing good going 9-3. Plus, as I've said before, I like hearing the complaints on the "kill mic" for lack of a better term when messing around with a riot shield--but even then I do it in KC and eat tags like Pac-Man and scoring more than people with 2X as many kills than me. All that stuff affects overall k/d.
Now, if my k/d starts dropping or is not going higher--I've changed something in my game. I find that sometimes I rush too much without checking corners especially when I'm frustrated. Sometimes in FFA I rush to the map hotspot instead of easing into it and taking it as my own. Sometimes I'll plant without checking around the bomb first to make sure it is clear. etc. etc. I make mistakes and sometimes I realize it then and there, sometimes I need that metric to point it out to me. There would be other stats that would be more useful though if readily available
Instant *WRONG* .I think it has some use. I always check it to see how I am doing every two days or so. It is your level of progress.
No stat is useful in isolation, but score/min and w/l (with same #teammates in party) are both better measures than K/D.
People can go 6-3 or 8-4 across a klll confirmed match. That's a 2 KDR, but these players are a beacon of suck.
checking k/d ratio for me is only useful to a certain extent -all it does is set an expectation for you, and the second you see that 2.0 guy in the lobby you are already assuming he is elite, or a camper or a cheat - thats also the first guy to jump out of the game as soon as his precious k/d drops below 1.. I'd rather under advertise and over deliver - mine is low no other reasons than I am an average player at best and I like to screw around - until I stop dying for stupid reasons, I can live with that.
It's all rubbish for reference except your own.
What is an across the board average KDR?
You can mathmatically assume it's 1.Is that a true fact?I believe not.
If your game is all about kills no matter the game type then your definately going to have higher KDR than someone playing a game type for what it is.I'm an objective player but don't mindlessly give my life away. However,i do frequently get caught out by other peoples sleazy tactics to obtain cheap kills by taking advantage of my "For the win" nature of playing the game.
I know i'm a better player than the person playing this style because he's gave his game away.I know how your playing and i change my way to obtain the objective because your cheap.Your still playing a sleazy style while i've taken the objective. You hold your pathetic KDR while i've obtained THE WIN.
The community is way too obsessed with this KDR bullsh't.Don't you all miss a good battle for a HQ or flag?Who gave a crap who finished 15-50 when the end result was a great fight and a good win?
Keep your video and play it over and over for your own pleasure! If it's TDM/FFA i'll give it a watch but don't expect too much praise.I've seen it 100 times somewhere else already.
For every kill you're getting, someone is getting a death, and for every time you die, someone else is getting a kill. That averages out to a 1.0 KDR, but when you factor in suicides from running into your own grenade and falling off high places, it's probably closer to 0.90.
