Im surprised so many people swallowed the whole Elite thing, it was to get the rent off gamers before they either a, shared the DLC with friends or b, found out how mind numbingly shit MW3 is and refused to buy their tepid spew.
And on the whole XBOX/PS3 Thing you only had to load up the game on any platform and it looks like an XBOX game, the whole colour scheme is fkn green and white.

I don't think it was that many, I guess people were going for pack-in that usually comes with the special editions. Besides you get the DLC cheaper this way. Also MW3 is not that bad, its got a few problems sure, but its a lot more hours than most games nowadays.

Pretty much. There is a reason why they wanted to push Elite early on - to get the sales before half the community decides it's SSDD and the previous version is still better. Loads of us liked the game for the first week or two when the game is still "pure" (You know, before everyone became a T95 / FMG whore 24/7), easy to make a sale then. Not so easy now that MW3 is what most of us accept it as.

Make em think they need it, even if they truly don't want it. Marketing 101.

Market it for 9 years old? Activision is not that smart to do what you are saying, Empty.

But really, why did people pay for the Elite bullshit? I think getting the free Elite is good enough for me.

Activision is smart enough to pull in millions of both casual and hardcore gamers. Mostly casual.
They just don't care for maintaining their products though.

The only reason I went with Elite was because #1 I knew I would end up buying all the map packs because I get bored of the regular ones and it comes out being 10 bucks cheaper than buying map packs. I could care less about clan ops and the extra video slot storage. And #2 was because the majority of the pre packed maps were absolute shit, I was hoping the newer ones would be better, and suprisingly I have enjoyed them more than I did the pre packed ones. Which has not been the norm for me with previous Cod titles. Usually the pre packed maps were better than the dlc maps.

^^^That Microsoft deal may not be there forever.

I don't think i done too bad with the Elite deal.I bought the Hardened edition for £80,the game itself was $40.Elite is £35 so i get a metal case, some codes for Avatar outfits and a field journal for £5.I've been thinking of selling my game and figure that the extras i got i'd probably get £40-£50 back from some fanboy COD fanatic.
