Rep system breeds trolling. Rep system is a horrible idea.

You will get trolling with or without the rep system. I have been analyzing this boards community and i realized that new members sign up when they have a question or when they want to rant about something but never to contribute to the forum.

Theirs a hole in this board and i think the forum owner should work on that.

after all Smoke, some of us like destroying trolls. online fps(forum post shooter).

You have the option of either giving or taking someone's rep by pressing a button on someones post.
It also shows you who gave you rep or took away rep in your main cp.

It works out really well because it also gives you bars on the top of your name. green if you have a lot of people who give you rep or red bars vice versa.

I don't like the possibility of taking rep away from someone. The potential for animosity is staggering.

Jugz-"So I got a haircut today. Then I got laid by the cashier."

Someasshole- "-Dislike-"

Jugz-"Hey someasshole, go **** yourself!!! Do you have PROBLEM with me getting haircuts or seducing haircut-business cashiers?!! Dickwad POS!!"

hmmm....it sounds like it happens quite often in here. I guess whatever is decided should be based upon vote from your community. Which is why it became successful for my forum.

Que? I'm guessing you mean "who", which is my point. If you can see who reps you down, this will be a very bad idea.

I personally think a "like" system would be best. No negative points, only positive.

Another possibility is that we DO do the Rep system, but only give a limited amount of dislikes/negative rep per person. Say, 3 bad rep points a month per person. That way, people will only "dislike" things that they REALLY don't like and not throw it around for everything.

lol well, the like feature is better for those who like fb status. Just make sure you disable the "dislike" button @ forum owner, as i see some of you are against +,- rep.
