The ARMA 2 multiplayer is available for free, without HD graphics (so it will run on more systems presumably?)

The multiplayer's not so hot if you're on a weaker system (you can see 500M, the enemy can see 5000M = you're screwed), but the co-op is good if you're into tactical shooters... And of course there's a huge range of vehicles from push bikes to Mig's

Still supports custom campaigns (and more importantly the editor to create them) though... I've not even looked at any of the mods available for ARMA2 yet

It also gives people a chance to see what it's like before they buy, which is never a bad thing.

There are even Africans if you get a mod....
But I'd say wait for ArmA3 and don't buy 2.
ArmA3 is future warfare but in 5 months there will be modern, WW2, Vietnam, and Cold War mods.

Btw, Project Reality has Canada in it.

How realistic are the aircraft in this game? Does it simulate at least the most basic of flight physics, or is it like HAWX? Does everything have a 3:1 thrust ratio like in most games?

Dunno, I play about in the helis in custom battles more than anything. It's better than BC2 in that respect though
