FJ if not using Hacker. Ghost / Hardline / LW if using hacker.

SoH v SA is your call, it ends up being more or less the same. Drawback of SoH is the whole "I cant see!" sights thing, but it has more upsides. Either way is just as effective as the other

I'm not stupid enough to not use either FJ or Hacker.

Lightweight/SOH/Marathon for me. The SPAS is not the shotgun to go to for OHK's in this game (that would be the Stakeout), you're more likely to be spraying 2-3+ shots to take an enemy or two down so I'll take SOH over SA for that reason. I can definitely see the benefit of Ghost over Lightweight, being that you want to get in close and that's a lot easier when you can move around undetected by UAV's, but I prefer Lightweight. It obviously helps you move around faster, and it's not necessarily such a bad thing to have people hunting you down when you're running the SPAS. You almost want people looking for you so you can get them into those CQC situations where the SPAS-12 really shines. Marathon is really a no-brainer as the third perk. There isn't a third perk I could see being more useful on a shotgun class. Maybe Ninja if you're running Ghost and really want to be undetectable. But other than that, Marathon is a no-brainer.

EDIT: And another thing about LW for your Tier 1, if you do get caught in that range where you're just out of shotgun range, if you're smart and use some good tactics it makes it a lot easier to get in range and deal out some punishment.

Ghost is pretty dumb on shotguns unless you camp with shotgun(like halo)

    Lightweight/SA/MARA

lightweight is the difference between a 2hko and 3hko for me, the extra speed really helps.

    My second most used weapon

    Flak Jacket.
I charge into buildings and choke points a lot, and this perk saves my ass plenty of times.
Ghost would also be a good perk, completing a stealth class.
But as long as I stick to buildings and the sides of walls, I rather welcome players to come at me,
Not fully aware that what I have will take them down rather quickly.
Lightweight is also a pretty good perk, combined with marathon and an enemy Spy Plane.
And the enemy will easily misinterpret how far you are from him.

    Steady Aim
No doubt, the 2nd tier perk from which I've received the best results.
This weapon has a lesser damage than the Stakeout, but the fire rate is very forgiving.
An accurate shot means you will use less shells for one target, and moving on sooner.
Besides, the reload isn't as harsh as you make it to believe. You can reload cancel any time with the amount of shells you put in.
From which two should be enough for any emergency situation before you reload again.
Also, the Iron Sights of the Spas-12 are very obscuring so it makes the pro version of SoH almost useless.
While the pro version of Steady Aim will leave you battle ready faster after sprinting, which can also be very useful.

    Marathon,
The most common perk for a class that needs to be very agile.
However Ninja can be quite a good perk depending on the type of game you are playing.
( Team tactical, FFA, Hardcore, Search and Destroy)
Tactical Mask Pro can also be great for breaching rooms, the shotgun's main purpose.
Like Empty said, if you are using Flak jacket, don't use Hacker.
If you are using Lightweight, use Hacker.
Why? Because if you are rushing, it helps to have something against explosive beartraps.

perk 1: lightweight. you need it to get in range, and it helps to cross open areas where there are lots of people with guns that have unlimited range.

perk 2: steady aim. the SPAS has a large enough mag that you dont need to reload super fast. steady aim pro is better because you can get that first shot off quick, because you should be sprinting all the time with a shotty.

perk 3: marathon duh. nothing worse than almost being in range and then running out of sprint juice.

    yes sir!

For my silenced Spas class I rock ghost, steady aim, and hacker. I'm not patient at all, so I just run around with my spas. If I was more patient I'd use lightweight and just lurk and let other dudes come at me. But I've found that ghost helps me more than lightweight does.

Steady Aim on the spas is a most def in my humble opinion. Not only is it faster to hip fire than aim (even with SoH pro) like numerous posters above have mentioned; the iron sights on the spas are abysmal. I NEVER aim down the sights with the thing.

Hacker comes in handy because it allows you to see all the claymores and equipment that's impeding your routes. My favorite thing to do is to find a claymore...shoot it (alerting the baddie who placed it) and then sneakin' around the other way and hopefully shootin' him in the back.

I get OHKs with the Spas all the time. I feel like the effective range for a OHK is roughly 20 feet. Anything after that than the majority of the time you're gonna get hit markers. But you have eight shells and usually if you get one shot in, the second blast kills them.

I love the Spas with all my heart and I probably have like 800-900 kills with it. Good stuff. Everybody plays differently though, so none of this may work for you. But I went 16-6 on Firing Range with this setup in TDM last night, and Firing Range isn't even a map that's really all that conducive to shotty play.

Map knowledge will also benefit you immensely. Not just the lay out of the actual maps themselves, but knowledge of high traffic routes, shortcuts, and choke-points can also aid you in your quest to blast people in the face. Happy huntin' friend!

6k Kills with the Spas. I NEVER ADS and its Ghost pro, SoH Pro, and Marathon Pro. I have tried SA SEVERAL times and i never really noticed a difference in the amount of OHKs. If you are close enough to them to kill them with the Spas then you are close enough without SA IMO. I dont know, I just never noticed, all i noticed was the ten seconds it takes to reload when i dont have SoH

SoH is a MUST with this weapon. Anyone who has played and RUSHED with this weapon would know that.

    wrong.

if youre emptying all 8 shells at once, you need to work on your aim. otherwise, you dont need sleight of hand. steady aim is better for the quick fire after sprinting.
