More nOOb Queries... Shiny Gold Boxes!!

Evening all... Have been playing my first FPS game borrowed from my man for a little while. Have just come across shiny gold boxes in the last two scenes and have no idea what they mean, what they're for, how to collect/store/open or do whatever they're designed to do!

Any help would be highly appreciated.

No idea whatsoever,do you mean the last 2 missions or??? If they glow yellow you need to plant a charge or something.

Most likely first mission, press the button they tell you to in order to plant the C4. Once you did that run like hell.
