    Default Ways to increase FPS?

So I got WaW today and I'm getting awful, i mean literaly terrible FPS. I'm getting like 20-30 and on cod4 i can get up to 250 if i really want to. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ways to lower it? I've lowered the graphics and done some commands i remembered from cod4 but i still can't get very good fps .

This was on dome though, with 25 people, and constant artillery...

One main thing, is there any way to tone down explosions? That causes most my lag.

EDIT: Also, one quick question, is 1.7 the patch to have? I'm only detecting 1200 servers, and I don't understand how WaW would only have 1200 when cod4 has 10k.

For the FPS issue use the same console commands that you use for COD 4 i get a constant 125 fps thats what i have it set to but i can get it as high as 350ish on a single GTX 280

Yes it looks like alot of clans have taken there WAW servers offline i,am also only seeing about 1200 I know our WAW and COD4 servers have had very little use since BFBC2 came out and only ever get used when a clan members feels like a stroll down memory lane

I take it because you can get 250fps in COD4 your system is fairly good but you dont say what it is ?

These are from Nixons FPS thread some will work some have allready been used by Treyarch to improve over COD4

I did the commands from Nixons thread, and I'm still only getting 20-40 on average. The cod4 250 fps is a moot point as its when i turn the graphics literally to the lowest they can get pretty much. I generaly run it at a steady 100-125 with the graphics settings I have on there.

I'm not really sure what the problem is. Would RAM be an issue? I only have 1 gig.

My video card is NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT.

That's your main problem. Upgrade to a more powerful graphics card. You might double the RAM as well. What CPU do you have?

TBH I have no clue, I'm not a very techy guy. Only reason i know my vid card is i did dxdiag.exe to find the name.

A better graphics card isn't really in the question at the moment, due to money (AFAIK). RAM however is. I've been playing today and I've been getting a pretty consistent 30-60 frames, generaly running at 40. My biggest problem, is, as earlier, explosions, mainly artillery. Once artillery starts going off, my FPS goes way down, to about 20 on average.

My computer is some dell I got like 4 years ago. Its not a gaming computer.

How much would RAM help the lag, just curious? I could maybe save up a bit more to get a graphics card instead of RAM, if that would be a better lag fix.

Doing a dxdiag will show you the name of your processor as well, it's right there on the first page.

Adding more RAM won't help your fps at all, only a better graphics card will.
And by the way, low fps are usually not called lag because it has nothing to do with your internet connection.

Good point about the FPS/lag relation, didn't think of that.

    Processor is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz.

I might be able to get some more RAM and a video card sooner or later. Off hand do you know how much that is in USD Kebab?
