Thread: Aim Assist on MW2/PS3

    Default Aim Assist on MW2/PS3

I noticed when playing MW2/PS3 on-line, some players seem to have the “AIM ASSIST” function enabled. You know, as soon as you shoulder your weapon, it’s dead on target, no adjusting needed. How do you enable this when playing on-line??

Not possible, they probably just have quick reflexes.

    Practice?

But seriously, Aim Assist is always on for online play on MW2 on the PS3 (you can't turn it off). You can notice it yourself if you ADS and an enemy runs through your sights, the gun will track them for a moment.

    It's practice, not aim assist.

Online aim assist is nothing like that "magic snap on target" in single player and special ops. Online it isnt even noticable unless you are already sighted in and someone walks past your sights, than your gun will follow them.

    Thanks!!
I guess I just suck at this game. I've played PC games for over 20 years and never had such a hard time of getting on target or maneuvering. This is my first console game and I just can't compete with the other players. Oh well, I guess I should have stayed with PC games.

    Thanks Again!

Aim assist on the PS3 multi player does two things:

    1) It lowers your sensitivity when you get near a person.

    2) It pulls the idle sway towards a target. (This is very noticeable when zoomed in with a sniper and some dude runs pass...)

It does not centre your reticle to the target when you ADS. However the idle sway pull may make it seem so, especially in the few seconds of kill cam footage.

Note: the idle sway pull will work through walls. So people who have a feel for these things can use it to find you behind walls.

Well, it shouldn't really affect your gameplay unless you have locked onto a guy for some time. My PC gamer friend in real life doesn't seem to realize the difficulty of console gaming. Aim assist is worthless without practice.

I find it more curse than cure... If I am zeroing in on someone really far and at that brief second some dude runs past, it can totally ruin your shot.

    Default Aim assist

I hate that you can't take off the aim Assist.. I hope they change this in black ops... It really makes me lose kill streaks... Three guys around with each other and you can't kill not one because your gun jumps and they kill you.. This real sucks!!.. It Makes it hard to enjoy the game at times!! It's a cheat in my opinion, because as long as there is at least two or more people running together you can not kill them!.. This sucks cock!.. All it takes is for someone to come into your screen and you can be already shooting someone and your guns jumps off target!.. So not only do you not ge your kill, but the person your shooting at kills you.. I can't see how they left the disable option out!..
