MW2 Guide to Snipers

This will be short and to the point. All the true statistics of all snipers and some advice on each will be given.

Key
OHK: One Shot Kill
1.5x: Multiplier, will OHK without SP, or with SP and Silencer here.
1.1x: Multiplier, will OHK here with SP and no silencer.
1.0x: Multiplier, will not OHK.
RPM: Rounds per minute

Notes:
-All snipers do 70 damage, silencers lower this to 50 at all ranges. There is no change in sway
-Damage multipliers will be listed as follows: Head, Neck, Chest, Body, Limbs
-Silencers without Stopping Power take away any chance of an OHK.
-Ghillie suits for Urban, Desert, and Arctic can be achieved by getting multiple OHK's.


Intervention M200 (bolt-action)
Damage Multipliers: 1.5, 1.5, 1.5, 1.1, 1.0
RPM: 67 RPM
Penetration: High
Ammo Cap: 5+15
Recoil: Medium, scope moves while cycling the bolt
Stopping Power is recommended, OHK's are important. Inferior to the Barrett, but its bolt-action, and, therefore, awesome.

Barrett .50
Damage Multipliers: 1.5, 1.5, 1.5, 1.1, 1.0
RPM: 600RPM
Penetration: Very High
Ammo Cap: 10+20
Recoil: Very High
Stopping Power can be done without, but helpful. Statistically the best sniper.

Walther WA2000
Damage Multipliers: 1.5, 1.5, 1.5, 1.0, 10
RPM: 444RPM
Penetration: Medium
Ammo Cap: 6+18
Recoil: Low
Stopping Power is useless, unless using a silencer, it has no 1.1 multipliers.

M21 Enhanced Battle Rifle
Damage Multipliers: 1.5, 1.1, 1.1, 1.0, 1.0
RPM: 1200RPM
Penetration: Medium
Ammo Cap: 10+20
Recoil: Very Low
Stopping Power is recommended, unless you want to spam or only do headshots.

Nice guide. I have fall camo and mastery on the Intervention, so I'll have to start working on the Barrett, I suppose. Mind you, there are another 10000 points sitting there for the 300 (I think) head shot challenge... Speaking of which (not to hijack the thread, but I think it's relevant), does anyone know how many levels there are to the Expert challenge? I kinda of figured that once I got the fall camo, it would be shown as complete. Apparently not.

Once you prestige, each gun gets a new title for 500 kills, new emblem for 1000 kills, and new title for 2500. It is also the same thing for headshots. You would have to really abuse a gun to get the 2500 headshots for it.

I really dont know what map I can actually snipe on. Its not like MW where crossfire and wetwork were meant for sniping. On MW2, derail has a couple of places, and thats it...Anyone got any good maps to snipe on? Sometimes I attempt to do it on Estate from the huge house window.

I tried the Barrett one game and no offense to all people that like it but, I hate it. I think its just too much recoil.

I personally love the .50 cal myself. Even with SP and silencer, I still can get some good kills with it. I'm working on the 2000 now, so far it's an ok rifle, but I really hate how it takes up almost the entire right side of the screen while holding it.

Yea, It is great. there are two spots from the front and back of the ship. Personally, I like the side with the huge pole, because on the window side it is too obvious and not much places to snipe. On the pole side, I could counter-snipe others that want to snipe also, and I can snipe the people in the other stair platforms. Plus, on that special side of the ship, on the bottom middle, there is a place where many, many enemies run through.

On crossfire, I snipe from the building that is next to the one with the entire wall broken. Or, if I spawn on the other side, I go in that one building thru the ladder and into the building that is directly across from the other sniping spot.

So where do you guys snipe at?
