It is a small amount, but that's where guys think it does increase damage. In the game the damage hit generally work in 5's or 10's, so although the damage bar indicates a slight increases in damage, I think it's to show that it doesn't lose as much damage when fired thru walls etc...

It is def more a Deep Impact perk and very useful.

Correct. Don't believe everything you see.

He's correct in saying that it "decreases the amount of damage lost when penetrating through objects". ie: Deep Impact (doesn't increase damage - only reduces lost damage when penetrating)

From what I've read, the "bars" are just as incorrect in MW2 as they were in COD4. Who knows why IW does this.

As for it being a waste of a slot... that's up to you. Would you prefer a silencer? RDS? HBS? Holo sight? It all depends on your class, your playing style, etc. I'd rather have a silencer on my sniper class, larger mags on my SMG.... all personal preference.

For me, it's only a means to unlocking larger Magazines. If somebody is behind a wall, there are other ways to kill them than to have to spray. Try an RPG. I've killed a few campers through walls with RPG. Damn powerful.

The ingame stats don't mean sh*t. The ones on CoD4 were all wrong and we got the true stats from game code. There's no reason to believe the ones on MW2 are any different.

I'm not sure you guys understand the stat bars on guns. The Accuracy on regular gun or sniper rifle is directly related to its Recoil. And yes the Fmj only increases damage through objects, more so than deep impact did in cod4 and cod5

It increases the damage a little bit, but it's more for bullet penetration. Personally, I think it's useless, because there are better attachments in my opinion. It's all about personal preference though.

i have it on a few weapons hoping to get the extended mags, but after 500 or so kills, i only have like 33 kills at most on each weapon using the fmj, so it's pretty useless to me.

I dominate with this attachment on my Scar. I completed the 40 bullet penetration kills challenge in no-time. I prefer this attachment over any other for the Scar (mainly because the iron sights are great so I don't need a red dot).

Please read the previous posts. It doesn't increase damage. It REDUCES, the amount of damage lost when bullets penetrate.
