Default Nazi Zombies - Der Riese Strategy

This is my best strategy for Nazi Zombies "Der Riese" that I have come up with so far:

Get as much money as you can in the courtyard where you start by shooting zombies with your pistol a few times then knifing them. By level three or four, you should have 2500-3500 points. You and your teammates buy your way to the main courtyard where the random weapon bin is, picking up a trench gun off the wall as you go. Turn on the power, get random weapons, etc. That main courtyard (with the random weapon bin) is an excellent place because all the zombies come from one direction. Stay there until you are rich enough/have good weapons/the random bin is gone, usually level 6-8.

From there, you all go together to link each of the teleporters to the mainframe, picking up perks as you go.* Buying Speed Cola and Juggernog is an absolute must, especially Juggernog (buy Double Tap Rootbeer if you have enough cash). After all the teleporters are linked, your entire team should meet back in the courtyard where you started. Your stronghold will be by the mainframe, right in front of the Pack-a-Punch machine. Stay there for the rest of the game, upgrading your guns whenever you have the money. Because all the zombies come from pretty much one direction, you all can stay backed up against the Pack-a-Punch machine for a pretty long time.

*OTHER TIPS: to make the "link teleporters while grabbing perks" step easier, try keeping around the last zombie of the round. Late in the round, grenade a group of zombies and kill all of them except one that's crawling. Make sure none of your teammates kill him! As long as you keep him alive, the round will not end/the next one won't begin, and you will have a virtually zombie-free map to move through.

That's the best I've seen so far. Thoughts? What strategies do you guys use? Post 'em.

Stay with your colts until level 4, then run to the mystery box and hold out there for a few levels.
As soon as you can open the door behind you, and run upstairs. Everybody grab a bowie knife. If somebody has a flamethrower, all they need do is camp the window upstairs with a flamethrower/knife while the rest of the team holds off the zombies for a few rounds.
When you have enough, get a crawler and make your way to where the double-barreled shotgun is. Everybody buy one! Also pick up juggernaut and (if you can afford it) Speed. Quick Revive is also a good one. Don't open the door right next to where the double-barreled shotgun is. Have one person camp the window behind you (again, flamethrowere/knife and some type of SMG or the shotty are best here). The other three face where all the zombies will be coming from.

This is the best spot in the game by far, camp here easily until you can get a crawler, unlock everything, then camp again until you can get another crawler and upgrade your guns.

The reason everybody should buy a double barreled shotgun is because it's on the wall right next to you, so when you get in a pinch and low on ammo you can buy ammo from the wall and keep firing. When upgraded it's a beast of a gun, and will 1shot zombies with fairly good range for most of the game. You need speed with it though.
In this spot my friends and I made it to level 27 and would have gone farther if our connection had not died ( ).

It's a great spot because (again), you only need one person to watch your back, the other three can focus on the main area, where all the zombies will come from only one direction. It's also sometimes useful to have two in front and one just wait to revive or help only when the zombies get too close, to conserve ammo and keep members up at all times.

When the dog-waves come, everybody line up against the back wall and shoot whatever comes at you, knifing when they get close. Easy cheesey

Great gun setups I found (all weapons upgraded ofcourse):

    Door-Camper
    DoubleBarrelShotty
    Flamethrower

    Rezzer
Colt (the upgraded gun shoots grenade launchers if you didn't know ... absolutely decimating)
    Wunderwaffle

    Camper1
    DoubleBarreledShotgun
    Raygun or Browning

    Camper2
    DoubleBarreledShotgun
PTRS (they line up real nice from this position and you just collateral em all down, 1shotkills)

Remember always tell teammates when a max ammo drops so they can reload, never hesitate to throw grenades, use your monkey bombs wisely, and NEVER EVER EVER leave your camping spot unless you have a crawler or somebody trapped at a window.
If you're low on ammo for your guns other than the DBS, using the teleporters have a very good chance to either drop a nuke or a max ammo box.

Good hunting, the new map is amazing.

BTW I got the secret acheivement "elevate your senses"

we like to hold the middle teleport at the back to jump back to the beggining if it gets to heavy, hopefully getting an insta or bomb in the process.
i think upgraded trench gun is an animal get them in a line and you can pretty much shoot through the lot.
i think finding 4 decent players is the hardest part of zombies one inferior player can cause a whole load of sh*t.

Thanks for the input, guys. I actually think trench guns are much better than double barrels, especially modified. I will be sure to try out the double barrel room as a camping spot, though. The balcony above the bowie knife is also a great two-front spot (one front if you fall back). You can also easily toss a monkey bomb off the balcony if you are in a pinch.
I think that survival almost always depends on perks (mostly Juggernog or Speed Cola). Every time I have died it was due to a lack of perks, in me or my teammates.

And I agree, the toughest part in online Nazi Zombies is getting skilled and cooperative teammates! Communication is also an issue; usually players just go off and do their own thing.

I'm sure the trench gun is better than the double barrel, but like I said I've found that room to be the best camping spot by far in the level, and since there's one on the wall you have unlimited ammo which is a HUGE plus. Having to rely on maxammo drops is very hard especially in the later levels.

DoubleBarrel makes for a good backup weapon. I actually haven't upgraded the trench gun, I'll have to give it a shot.

Anybody else have corpses bugging on them? Like they're dead but frozen standing up or whatever? It's so annoying cuz they block your view. Anyways.

I made a map of "Der Riese" based off the one at the loading screen. Enjoy.

    Der Riese Edited Map.jpg

    KEY

    Yellow Blocks: Teleporters
    Green Block: Speed Cola
    Red Block: Juggernog
Orange Block: Double Tap Root Beer
    Turquoise Block: Quick Revive

    Teal areas are upstairs.
Blue stripes are doors that you buy to open.
Turquoise stripes are doors that open when power is activated.
The electricity icon marks the power.

    Courtyard 1: Starting place.
Courtyard 2: Main courtyard with Random weapon bin and power.
Courtyard 3: Room with bowie knife, teleporter, and that handy balcony.

I think it blows them all away. I have never really been a fan of zombies. I mean its ok but i prefer multiplayer. I have only been able to play this new map by myself unfortunatley though because i have moved and high speed internet is not available except for satellite and wireless cards and i dont trust either (i dont want to be the idiot lagger). So I havent been able to make it very far but it cures the hunger. I will try these strategies tonight to see if it will help even though i am only 1. Anyone played by themselves and if so how far were you able to make it.

I've played through alone a couple times, and made it to about lvl 6. I know I could go further, but I had bad habits of exploring too much (At least I learned the map).

I got to 19 last night staying on the stairs above Bowie knife with just 2 of us. 2 others disconnected at lvl 4, but we held through. He had MG42, and ??, I had Sniper most of it (It's awesome for the straightaway shots - multiple 1shotkills on the stairs). Then got type 100 upgraded off wall cause Box gave me crap!

The only way to survive long is to make sure you get a crawler. They start to slow down in numbers, then you know to toss a couple grenades to get one. Done for if you can't pull that off.

I dont much like sitting in front of the pack a punch machine. The zombies can come from both sides and straight ahead and it is easy to get overwhelmed. Personally, I think if you can resist the urge to grab that bowie knife, it is a good idea to stay in the courtyard next to that door where the zombies only come from one direction.

    Thats just my opinion.
