Well... we really dont have a book section in the entertainment category, so I will just leave this in the general area.

Has anyone read the entire Watchmen novel?
I haven't... but in anticipation for the release of this movie... I might be compelled to go buy it and do so. Its rated as one of the top 100 best novels of all time by New York's Top Sellers List.

Every comic fan swears this is the bible for comics.

I am no expert in the area of graphic novels, I've only read it as it was sitting in our bathroom after a friend lent it to us. I would say it's a decent read, quite slow to get started, lots of focus on political agenda and the psychology of superheros. Having heard what they are doing to the story in the film; differences etc... I think the book will actually end up making a more coherent story so I would recommend reading it especially if your making the effort to see the film :)

According to friends who are into comics and graphic novels it does live up to the hype, I probably wouldn't bother reading it again though.

I have yet to see the watchmen. But I did get the novel today. I am starting chapter 3 shortly. The book thus far has delved greatly into detail. Im only jsut learning the back story for characters. I am starting to get a gauge on everyone... and how they "appeared".

If you are a fan of the film... I can only imagine you would like this graphic novel. Im sure the movie doesnt quite do it justice. And I will most likely finish the book before I see this movie... I hope it doesnt ruin the movie for me.

I might know a lot about what happens and why in the film. I imagine the novel has WAYYYY more in it.

Please dont post any spoilers.

I had never even heard of Watchmen, went a couple weekends ago with some friends and loved it. It was one of the best movies I had ever seen in theaters. Which puts it up there with I Am Legend and 300 for me. It was beastly. But, it also had a lot of Adult content. And Dr. Manhattan is completely naked and that wasn't cool at all, although it was a little weird and funny at first. But, it doesn't downgrade the movie at all. I am going to read Watchmen after I finish the Halo series which I am currently reading and 'It' by Stephen King (which is supposed to be extremely scary)

Well... Im progressing into the book VERY FAST. I am completely entranced in it. I was on chapter 3 last night. I am now on chapter 10. I am more than 3/4 of the way through it. I am going to post up a VERY lengthy rating for this novel.

I must say right now though.... it is a VERY complicated read. It requires a level of intelligence to understand all the concepts throughout.

I have not.
I did finish this book a long ass time ago though lol.

I never wrote my lengthy review.
But id recommend reading it. Explains a few facts, like how Rorschach got his mask.

Movie was great, book was just as good, or even better.
