How important is ping and do some people really get 400+ ping?

It's not THAT important but theres a certain point where it's obvious theres something wrong. Yes, there are people with 400 ping.. those are the people with crappy connections or people playing from China or something

Umm for the PC, Ping is really important, Since the servers are run off of T3 connections, (unlike the xbox servers being run off of cable modems.) There is a lot of registration being lost from just a person w/ 50 ping to a person w/ 150 ping. You will notice the difference.

And a person w/ 400 ping will be unplayable and just laggy all around.

I was talking more about that you won't notice too much of a difference from 40 to 60 ping. From 40 to 150 you'll definitely feel some of it though

i usually have around a 100 ping anywhere, even in a server that is close by, mostly because i have the internet that is 1 up from Dial-up and not the best...
i heard somewhere that a 150 ping has a .5 second lag in comparison to a 20 ping... dont know if its true.
