Overgrown is loaded with campers. The edges of the maps On the buildings and along the walls between the 2 sides.....everybody camps these spots. I personally take pride in running up to them from an angle they can not see me and killing them. Its only annoying if there hard to get at.

I second that, I have group of six people i play with and two of them camp all the time but they only end of getting like 8 kills and me and my other friends get 20 kills plus. Since they camp we end up losing the match becouse of their low kill count and they wanna know how we rank up so fast

For the record my K/D ratio is 2.59 and I average at least 15 – 20 kills per game and I just don’t see the sense in running round like an idiot you see people with loads of kills but even more deaths so they’ve done nothing to win the game…morons!!! Then they have the balls to moan about campers who only kill a couple of people but didn’t die and so in reality the campers were more productive

I don't understand why people critique the way other people play. It's a personality thing. Not everyone is the same. Why should they play exactly the same way you do? Is it annoying getting killed by a tube? Ya betcha, but it's still a valid way to kill and the person gets a thrill from doing it. If everyone is camping on a specific board, the smart thing to do is adapt your gameplay. That's what I love about playing real people...every game is different depending on their personality and style of play.

In my opinion i dont like campers either, takes the fun out of the game, also the aim, which is to destroy all enemys or destroy a target. Which is fun. But camping is another way to do that, but the easier and spoilt way of going about it. Camping is not cheating, no way shape or form, its just a lame tactic used by people who dont know of many other tactics. Snipers that camp, are indeed respected for what they pull of, but if a person has a sniper equiped, and is appearing to be camping/hiding, it isn't thought to be camping when u equip a sniper. Snipers were made to hide in mainly one spot, and never to be seen, kill enemys without them knowing so to speak. And that is what they do best. It isn't thought to be camping.

I much prefer to walk/run about to get ppl, esp when you go round the long way and surprise them from behind, and get them when they least except it. Always good with UAV Jammer. It can be quite an asset if you get good at it. Especially if you spot an enemy cross map and can zoom and kill quickly, I am for a 3 second window. See the enemy, zoom in, hold breathe, aim for head if possible and kill within 3 seconds.

Usually when I camp I get half my kills from tough guys thinking they'll knife me in return for shooting them in the head while they ran across the street on the other side of the map.

Then again, a lot of those guys either don't know they make noise, or they're really in a rush. I hear them below, or around me, wait near a corner, then knife them. :)

If I have my acog and M40, or 140, I'm usually in the thick of things. I play headquarters pretty much all the time now, and I camp, if you call it that, near the headquarters and rely on my team to watch the other side.

If I have the regular scope, then I'll either walk aroun the outsides of the map, or if it seems to be a dead lock in advancing, take up position behind my team. If the level is small, I'll run and gun.

The worst are juggernaut, automatic weapon and acog.

By placing your ass in a particular spot and not moving (aka camping) isn't the best idea for success in CoD4. You are far more successful in kills if you run around and meet the enemy. By sitting in a corner of an obscure room in a map gives you a kill once every 2 minutes - at best. By sitting in a corner of a relatively popular room gives you a kill once every minute - again at best. And don't forget that the guy you humuliated will be coming back for your blood. There is really no point to camping in this scenario.

If you have a sniper, you're obligated to camp in a nice spot - but you might not last very long. In fact, camping snipers are actually preferred in-game as they're much easier to deal with than a roaming sniper.

In the beginning of the game...when I first started everything was so quick and I was getting killed a lot. There was a lot going on all the time and I was not used to the game. Of course you camp in corners etc. to try and kill people and get rank. I think everyone here has done it to some degree and if you say you did not...then you would be lying! After playing awhile I also got to the point where I was grunting and groaning about campers...but really like other people ahve said IT IS A GAME..why not let people play they want to. If you get kille camping so be it! I am sure after getting killed time and time again you will learn to not camp but kill and keep moving. I myself have done all styles, camping at times, run and gun, staying in certain areas of maps, you name it. I guess I have evolved into the run and gun type unless I am sniping.

Camping is just another way to play the game, it has its advantages, and its disadvantages, you might be able to get one or two kills from the same spot, but you'll be found eventually, personally, if I find a good spot, with good cover, and no chance of back or side attacks, I might camp for a kill or two, but i'll soon move on.

He's right. Camping and a little walking are more realistic than just sprinting around like a bunch of idiots all over the map. It slows the game down a little making it more realistic. But hey...there's no stopping it anyway cause its just a game and you cant stop it.:D

So i 2 hate these campers, i'm also a run and gun man, but lately i'm starting to become a bit powerfull for snipers/campers, it's strange but on a regular tdm i most of the times get like 30kills and 5 deaths (offcourse there are exceptions, but that's why i say mostly)

the only typ that is allowed to camp (in my eyes) is in s&d, cause if you planted a bomb, it would be very stupid just to go run around and 'unguard' the bomb :-D

There is no sniper in real life that you will see sprinting anywhere! What would the point be in being stealth if the enemy sees a running bush? If the sniper is good he will get the kill without ever giving his position away...even if he has to stay in the same spot for hours after the kill.

Sometimes I have the ACOG on and other times I wait outside and camp for "volunteers"...lol I am now starting to go into the inside with the sniper rifle picking off the people on the top levels. :evil:

I was battling a camper on Crossfire the other day who was at the three teered level sitting at the stairs and his buddy was in the corner once you finally got to the second level. It was quite a battle...but the annoying thing was being spawned all the way back by the bus and having to RUN all the way back after being killed :roll:

Well, with snipers it is understandable, aswell as setting up an ambush or defending an objective. Some people do just realize they can't handle an open firefight too. So, they may be campers, but they are honest people.

I used to camp all the time but now I just run & gun getting 20+kills a game only when I have a high kill streak is when I start camping.

i like camping and sniping depending on what map i`m playin g. too many people moan about campers. why? if you dont like campers hunt them down and kill them. camping is part of the game. this is a realistic game , its not about running around like a headless chicken firing at everything that moves. you wouldnt do it in iraq would you? campes and snipers are here to stay, get used to it and try and deal with them. i snipe once in a while and i never stay in one spot. in fact at times i run to the middle of maps and get the camping snipers who always stick to the same spot like crossfire. always the same spot. anyways people camp cause snipers are more prevalent in the game now. before 1 person would snipe a game. my last game in BOG for the 2 teams there were 10 snipers. in fact the game was sabotage and for first 7 min the bomb remained untouched and people refused to approach middle.

That is comical...I can see how that would play out..no one wanting to get sniped :D Funny though someone with extreme conditioning could have ran out there and snagged it and ran off without getting sniped I bet.

and u should get used to checking corners and u will be fine after u get good at s&D u checking corners just comes nataterly

I camp when im on my streak when i wanna get airstrike/helicopter, if u dont camp ur more likely to die, thats the only reason I do it

Aw, done a team death match today for the first time in ages. Was on showdown, I just knew it'd be a camper park. So I just launched up the stairs to the left hand side, sprinted down the other set on the other side, all 6 of them were running up lmfao everyone of them with my P90 gone. Next I ran back and jumped beside that skip and launched a grenade (randomly) and hit another 2, got a helicopter and just kept running up n down stairs catching them all. Towards the end of the game I noticed my team mates getting roughed up by campers in boxes etc, so I just sneaked up beside everything and knifed it, wether there was someone there or not they got knifed, I matched my kill streak then some *** with a noobtube owned me :(

So, campers beware of the knifing madman :D :P

I really don't see what the big deal is. Camping, just like running around, is a strategy. Sure, it's a bit annoying when you keep getting killed by them, but that should make your objective to kill that camper. People can't seem to comprehend that a balance of people running around, camping, and many other strategies, is what makes the COD4 multiplayer experience so addictive.

I don't know about most people, but campers actually piss me off and ruin my experience. So do noobtubers. Also, camping isn't a strategy at all. If everyone on both teams camped the whole game then the final score would be 0-0.
