Well now that the PS3 is hacked to the nines I was wondering if anyone out there is planing on getting the next COD game. Me, I think that I am done rewarding Craptivision with money after BO letdown (so much potential I am sad inside it has gone to the dogs) and will not be buying the next game. I have been a huge fan of COD since COD2 and it pains me to see a favorite game series collapes due to douchy hacker/ poor product support/ poor porting to PS3.
PS..DC UNIVERSE IS SWEET- but glitchy in it's own way. PS3 name is SpaceDuke add me if you want to play!

I cannot answer whether or not I'll be getting the game until I actually try it. I preordered Blops before its release, and even though the game was overhyped, my friends play it, and I bought it to play it with them. For the next one, I'll be holding back on the pre order and actually wait and consider my purchase.

CoD: Black Ops is my first of the "Call of Duty" franchise (my 1st online multiplayer) and I really enjoy myself while killing and being killed. The cheaters/hackers to me are merely an upgraded enemy that needs a lot extra you must die with a ballistic knife to the face jungle juice kill kill cuddle up fun time ...so they only get to me sometimes... I would say that me buying the next CoD title is a virtual lock... you know the world might end between now and then and of course none of us would be buying it then.

I probably will get the next Call of Duty game. I have CoD4, WaW, Mw2, and BO, CoD games are just my style, with all the bullsh*t aside.

If sniping is not gimped again, I will buy it.
If it still is gimped, I will probably have to think about it.

I dont think i've experienced any hacks, maybe once when one guy would NOT go down, but could jsut be ****ty connection. Almost guaranteed to pre-order though unless something else fills the void so signifcantly that I don't wanna go back to COD ... i'm looking at you Killzone 3
I think I probably will. Even though the series is getting stale, I still do consider COD to be my favorite and most played game. It is also a good stress reliever. Teacher in school pissing you off? Go into split screen, turn on your other controller, log him in as Mr. Douche, and proceed to kick his ass over and over and over and over again. Wonderful stress reliever, especially since my punching bag broke a while ago.

I was done with the franchise after MW2. I did not purchase black ops but a friend did. I did play it single player and training though and did not like it for several different reasons.

if kotick gets sacked before the game's out, maybe. if kotick gets impaled by angry antivision shareholders, definately.
then again, if i get my nukem fix on schedule, who knows?

The rumour is that there are 2 CoD titles set for release this year. An MMO developed by Sledgehammer Games and a prequel to CoD4 being developed by Infinity Ward (even though about 90% of the important people at IW left, lol).

Any news on the next COD? Are we assuming it's gonna be MW3

Being a call of duty fan, you are almost obligated to buy it.
I'll be buying the first Respawn game, which will demolish the COD franchise.

hell no, unless its freaking epic and works properly. I heard that IW was going rouge or possibly hooking up with another company to put out their own fps. Anybody know anything about this?

I was thinking probably rental at best.
COD series is pretty much over for real players / gamers now imo, its a bit beyond redemption i think, very sad.

If a new Rainbow Six comes out I think we should all switch to that series!

I have been getting every Call of Duty since the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It will stay that way. Call of Duty for life.

Being a call of duty fan, you are almost obligated to buy it.
Having seen the series fall to shambles in front of your face, you are almost obligated to abandon all hope by now. The problems that make CoD what it is now are literally unfixable, as they are player issues IMHO.
If it's MW3, I'll probably rent, just to subject myself to what is likely an even more nonsensical story that has nothing to do with the previous game. Bit of story closure, ya dig? Though, like MW2 I'm sure it'll make so little sense again that I'll spend half the time asking more questions than the thing answers, like who left the keys in the ignition on a boomer? lol

Okay, I see your logic.
But it sounds to me, you're no longer a "fan".
Also...
If you have played CoD for as many hours as I have, and no doubt as you have, you get used to coming home from school/work and playing some CoD. You play it 75% of the time, you make friends on a forum about it, you complain about it, you rave about it, etc. Now here comes a new one, another brand of coke for you to get addicted to and hate.
I suppose you get to a point where you stop buying the bull****, but for me, it's not yet, because:
1. I haven't found a replacement.
2. I still find more enjoyment than disappointment.

I am a fan of what the game should be, what Call of Duty was. Despite the fact I started with CoD4, I feel much more in tune with CoD2. It's straight forward, it is what it is and there is no real hiding it. No perks, no killstreaks, none of that kiddie gobbeldy gook, which has tainted every game since. If it weren't for the fact Pure = Camp mode, that is all would play. Outside a bit of GW.
But no, we cant have that. Never. Even with hundreds of perk combos, thousands of setups including guns and attachments, Black Ops is "boring" to some. It gets old coming to the forum and reading the same old stuff that consists of
1. IW is godly, it was activision's fault! (Even though there was a history of them not fixing ****, but dont point that out, because that is being a fanboy. Yet, a year ago same people were saying IW fails - Idiots.)
2. Black Ops is boring.
3. Black Ops is soo much easier. Even with the lack of SP, recoil - yup.
4. How CoD4 was much more "pro" with those good ole SP 2 hit kills.
Remember how they got Jugg removed which lead to arguably the worst CoD game since the series inception? The community asks for things they truthfully should not get.
The community consists of dumbasses whom I can and do shoot full of holes, but they some how completely forget. Every game that comes out is hated, then one year later on the nose is regarded as oh so great. It's grown old.
Despite how I look on the forums, I enjoy CoD, outside of that one game that was so horrible it should not even be called a CoD game. I make observations, that is what I do. I assure you, I am far more calm than anyone around here thinks I am.
Unless MW3 is more or less the game I want - Recoil, lower damage, Custom dedi servers, I do not see myself sticking with it. Blops honestly is a step closer to what I want, so it's going to take a much bigger improvement to dislodge me for another CoD. Particularly if MW3 is Vietnam redux, which is not something IW can pull off it seems, given every last one of their games.
I don't want a Hollywood Vietnam experience. There is a reason why I prefer Treyarch games. On several levels.

I already gave my answer but if it is based in the Vietnam, Korea, WW2 era that just reaffirms my steadfastly not getting involved in it. I did not buy BO but I play it every once in a while. But if the next COD takes place in the above time periods I won't even play it.

Doubt it, to be honest the community is just getting worse and worse and I won't have the time to devote to proper competitive gaming

If i had xbox360 i'd definitely get it, but being a Ps3 player, and paying the same amount of money for such a crappy port i'll wait, not for reviews (because all those review websites have been bought by the publishers), but from people's opinions on the game's forum. Probably a rent first.
I can't believe they didn't fix the crappy framerates, i sold my game because of that

I'm definitely renting it first this time, and not taking the day off work/going to a midnight release. Getting sick of the crappy players who hide in corners, and the noob hunters who see your prestige and back out right away. Hopefully a new shooter comes along and kills cod off.
