C4 How to Use It

I just prestiged so I have access to basically nothing, and claymores are only situationally useful when rushing.

I equipped C4, but it doesn't seem to work, what buttons do I need to put it down? When I directional up it only brings up the clicker to set it off. How do I plant it?

on xbox i think the right button names would be: press up on d-pad to pull out clicker, press LT to throw and RT to detonate.
remember you got 2 of them.

Also, if you don't have the clicker in your hand,
You can detonate the C4's by rapidly double clicking (X)

The C4s are a good concept as tactical explosives.
But they are too weak in my opinion.
Heck, a regular grenade benefits you more.

I like using them for that "oh you're back in that window" factor. I used it quite a bit in MW2, so I hope it doesn't suck. I like it for Cap the flag when you know you're getting followed and don't have time to position a clay.

Scout's pro effect makes c4 pull out and blow instanteous.

The good c4 spot for me is the summit door near A., just plant c4 there and wait for people to come.

throw is L1 and to make it go boom R1, or as someone reminded me above, doubletap square.

C4 was way powerful in MW2, it's still pretty good in BO, I've used it for 10 prestiges, and it's my favourite equiptment. You could run these things as a primary if they didn't run out, in fact, I do when I'm trying to get the 25 kills for hacker pro (use this, rush >>> Claymores, and then hope). To use them press up on D pad, hold LT to cook them, release LT to throw. Then just double tap X. There's nothing much to them, just throw them at people, lob them in windows, whack them on walls for ambushes. These save you from about 80% of RCXDs if you have them on and ready them when you hear one. You can also safely use Tomahawks instead of grenades when you have C4, because you wont need to rely on Frags to kill campers. Stun + C4 is a good combo around corners too, you can use the stuns to find enemies with hitmarkers, then just lob a C4 where you've located them and boom. Usefulllll!!!!

I do something similar when using claymores.

I place them on common camping locations,
Such as Firing Range's two story buildings,
And then just leave, so when they respawn close to those places,
They'll get a surprise once they go into the building.
When there are a lot of campers in the match,
It can even get me a double kill.

They were much easier to use in that game,
Even though they replaced your grenades, and you only had one.
They were more powerful and consistent than in Black Ops or even COD4.
Oh, and you could always replenish.

As well as said above, I think C4 isnt for everyone, you really have to know how to use it, Double tapping X is a MUST.

I am going to try to get a easy triple i got on TDM of people rushing, and show you the potential of the pizza boxes :)

I think C4 should work by default like it does with Scout Pro, then it would be up to snuff to compete with Claymores and other stuff, it's still useful, it's just so slow.

in domination games i throw c4 from an elevated position onto objectives that are being captured by the other team. usually yields multikills. C on crisis, B on firing range, B on jungle are good examples of this.

It's pretty useless against Flak Jacket users sadly. I do love C4 but I can barely get 2 man multikills with it even when my placement is damn near perfect.

As equipment I prefer motion sensor, amazing bit of kit

C4 has been around since cod4 and i have never once touched it. I dont use explosives outside of random grenades and using rockets to blast aircraft out of the sky. I find them generally useless. I dont even use claymores anymore cuz really, no one falls for em and if they do then it was only cuz they were retarded or a bot. >.> <.< I DO however like sticking said explosives to someone (bot or otherwise) to see their reactions though.

I LOVE C4 in MW2. I've lost track of how many double and even triple kills I've gotten. Someone stealing your objective? Toss it around the corner. Someone hiding behind a fence? Toss it over. It's also good for "aerial bursts," where you detonate it over someone, such as the B flag on Karachi.
