Tryin to connect to a friends server not seeing it on the list so tryed to /connect < IP > didnt work and /join <IP> didnt work anyone know how to connect direct to an IP?

There isn't a way yet, /connect will be added in upcoming patch(es) for now you'll just have to get him to send you an invite once he's on the server then hit F10 to connect when you see it pop up in game.
