Hi, I decided to write a guide for one of my favorite weapons. This one applies to regular only as I don't know much about HC.

The Skorpion is a unique SMG firing .32 ACP bullets at 850 RPM. The rate of fire is slightly higher than that of the MP5 or AK-74u. A full magazine holds only 20 rounds, less than any other automatic weapon. At very close range,
the Skorpion inflicts a whopping 50 damage (2 hits to kill), more than any other SMG, but the range of maximum damage is correspondingly shorter: the damage drops quickly to 20 (5 hits to kill, 4 with Stopping Power) at the long end of shotgun range.

Pros/Cons at a Glance

+high rate of fire
+very low recoil enables full auto fire
+high damage at very close range
-small magazine size along with a longish reload time
-short range of maximum damage creates a deadzone

Strategy

Due to its low recoil, comparable to an M4, the Skorpion is the only SMG capable of efficiently taking out targets at the longer ranges (about as well as an M4 in fact) as the others have to be fired in bursts. It's simultaneously among the most lethal weapons at very close ranges.

The biggest fact in the life of a Skorpion operator, however, is the dreaded deadzone. The following chart summarizes efficiency vs. range for the Skorpion, MP5 and M4.

As you can see, the Skorpion is very vulnerable immediately beyond the short range killzone, where it's dominated by most other weapons. For example, if you face an MP5 user there, you'll need 4 hits to kill, while your enemy only needs 2 (assuming SP). This gap has caused naysayers to label the Skorpion a "pea shooter".

To succeed with the Skorpion you must do whatever it takes to stay out of the deadzone. It's rarely wise to move backward in CQC. Instead, zig-zag towards the enemy. Always strafe when you can, even at longer ranges. Don't bother shooting through cover as you will merely annoy your enemy. Move backwards or take cover when reloading, then reengage.

Maps

The Skorpion excels on maps that have tight winding corridors, small houses where its CQC capability can shine, but also big open areas. Good maps for this gun are Crash, Overgrown, Crossfire, Chinatown, and Countdown. You can move from building to building, clearing them using the CQC killzone, while covering long lines. Try to stay near cover at all times.

Which 2nd perk: Stopping Power, Double Tap, Sleight of Hand, or Juggernaut?

Stopping Power helps little up close, as the gun kills in 2 hits with or without it. Double Tap and Juggernaut, on the other hand, give a nice boost at close range. Juggernaut also helps at long range against snipers and the M16. The obvious downside of DT is that the miniscule magazine is expended even faster, while with Juggernaut and Sleight of Hand it's harder to take out targets at long range.

DT in particular is very nice to have in CQC, as the Skorpion becomes a lethal killing machine (second only to the shotguns), spewing out 50 damage bullets at 1150 RPM! However, against Juggernauts SP is always the better choice.

On balance I'd recommend SP for most situations, not the least because it conserves ammo. I feel SoH gives up too much power in exchange for quicker reloads.

Setups

Skorpion, red dot sight
Bandolier

The basic Skorpion setup. The sights are dead accurate and fire up quickly. There's absolutely no sway. Visibility below the target is not obstructed as in the iron sights. Bandolier is definitely recommended, as even with it you may find yourself running out of ammo in a frenzied firefight.

Skorpion, ACOG scope
Bandolier
Steady Aim

This is a good setup, at least on consoles. If like most people your aiming skills are not yet at a high level, the ACOG scope makes it easier to track targets at medium to medium-long range. Make every bullet count. The weapon looks like a hairdryer with the scope attached.

We are using Steady Aim here to extend hip firing range because the scope is impractical at close quarters. Long range performance unfortunately suffers due to the sway of the scope.

Skorpion, silencer
Bandolier
Stopping Power / UAV Jammer
Dead Silence

When silenced, the Skorpion's CQC killzone shrinks to almost irrelevance. Therefore this class is designed for longer range encounters. In those it fortunately beats every other silenced weapon out there. The open iron sights are excellent; however, if you are in the habit of aiming at the upper body, you may instead want to aim at center mass or even the crotch to not lose sight of targets.

Conclusion

The Skorpion is a schizophrenic little beast with its dual killzones. The sky is the limit but you have to follow a strict formula to get the results. The Skorpion is not suitable for pure running and gunning, as the deadzone doesn't allow it.
