When I have xfire on more specifically when i have xfire-in-game feature on my mw2 crashes to the error iw4mp.exe has stopped working. This happens as the map loads. When I turn of the feature or turn off xfire i can load into games just fine. I even tried joining a game and then turning on xfire and it crasehd as soon as i turned it on. It also crashes singleplayer sometimes. can anyone help?

Sounds like you need to update xfire, possibly reinstall it?

I wasn't going to buy this game,( I play on the PC ) because I disagree with IW, doing away with dedicated servers, however, my wife thought she was doing me a favour and bought it, ( made me feel like a real traitor,) I will not be playing it on line, but I have been trying to just play the single player game, my graphics card was just about adequate, so when I tried to play the game the video was OK, but I couldn't read anything, the writing was all pixelated, so we got a new graphics card, a GeForce 9800, the game plays fine, and I can read everything, the problem comes moving from one level to the next, the game crashes, and when I get back in, I have to reset all my controls again.
Has anyone else found this problem ?.

Your original problem was caused by out of date graphics drivers, you didn't need to buy a new card. That being said the geforce 9800 series should play the game with all the bells and whistles :D
Post your dxdiag please, and I'll check your drivers out for you (instructions on how to post dxdiag can be found through the link in my sig).
