Get to the Choppa!!!

Today I was playing Domination on the Crash map, my team was getting slaughtered by incoming after incoming helicopters. Someone yelled into the mic "Diceman.... get to the choppa!!!" I ran on top of the roof of the 3 story building and as I came up the final steps... I couldn't believe it... the chopper was so close that I could jump into it, maybe even knife it... instead I threw 2 satchel charges of C4 at it - they both stuck!! As it was flying off... click...click...Boom! that baby came down like a rock, I was hoping it would land on the other team but it just flew away.

I think chopper kills are one of the hardest parts of the game, we should get EXP for taking them down, what are your favorite ways of bringing down the chopper?

i just carry around an LMG on the maps i hate/suck at... then if a heli is ripping my team up i just unload on it, cuz i just passing time till the next map. :)

anyways, that story just made my day...

I agree that you should get experience for killing choppers, it even should count like you have killed like 3 or 5 enemies, because, that way more of the teammates would try to bring it down, instead of just ingored for the most time.
Great story, I just love it when heli get to the street level.

I have taken down choppers with the mounted machine gun and the LMG's before, even with the RPG - this was my first time taking it down with C4. I'm going to try taking it down with grenades next time - cook it for a second then chuck it.

For the next update - I think we should be able to put our own pictures in the kill cam, how cool would it be to half a pic of yourself waving from the helicopter after a kill, that would really annoy some people.

Haha. I laughed so hard when I read this, I too didn't know you could use C4 to blow up a heli. Something I will have to try, maybe on District map, the heli comes in right over market place on that map, nice and low.

I think if you blow a heli out the sky it should be worth 30 XP because usually when shooting at a choppa, you will get shot first unless you on a wall mountd machine gun, they are the dogs lol.

I def think you should get XP and kills when you shoot down the heli!! I've only ever been able to shoot it down with the mounted machine gun and possibly the RPG although you never know if it was genuinely you that shot it down or you did it with help from team mates.

Diceman, thats sweet that you got to take down a chopper with C4, thats aweseum. I agree with you in that you should get xp (like double the normal amount of xp) for taking down a chopper.

Especially the crazy hard ones, like get 2 kills with a sniper shot and maybe airborne...but everyone glitches for it.

I can't take all the credit though, the Chopper has a health rating of 1100, two charges of C4 are only worth 1000 damage, some of my team mates pumped a few rounds into it with their LMG's. I got lucky, I tried it a few times since then and the only thing to happen is a quick kill for the chopper. You have to use team work to take down choppers.

I agree as even if you're using an Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher it is still hard to find the accuracy to take one down.

i once took one down with my deagle. rpg hit and i went nuts. i fired a whole round and i even got the 250xp for the challenge. the days of randomness. now i have to play to keep my stats good.

i have taken choppers down before w/ cooked grenades and i also love takin em down with noob tubes, i have a special class to switch to when they come out....its a noob tube and then overkill with another noob tube, if it hits the chopper all 4 times that biatch is coming down, always funny

We have been asking for that since release day. I take pride in taking Choppers down, we should be rewarded EXP bringing them down.

Its a good idea to have a class set aside especially for taking down Heli's. If you play any team matches, you know what kind of damage a chopper can inflict. A few shots from an LMG class weapon and/or RPG will do the trick. The last thing you need is some joker taking you and your soldiers down, piling up a 15 kill streak at your teams expense. I have a class equipped with the SAW249 RDS & RPG - you might even use Sonic Boom in this class.

Taking heli down with C4 is fairly impressive, but if you really want to awe me, do it with claymore(s)...:D
