Yeah id agree to say its more now than 20 years down the line. Of course, it might involve a few pieces of tech that we never heard before (MIGHT)... But doesnt mean your govt doesnt already have it ;)

All the gear/technology in the game is modeled after their real life counterparts . However, it [i]does feel like it's 20yrs until the damn game comes out. :(

I don't think you have anything to worry about there. As several others have said, the weapons will all be modeled off those that exist in real life. That means they will be realistic in appearance and sound, they will have realistic applications and authentically reproduced/imitated mechanics. There will be weapons that were not in COD4 (so they will be new in that sense) but IW is not going to stray into the realm of sci-fi
